OK - I know I should use a skive - BUT this works soooo much better and faster. Just keep your eye on the thickness - I sand it down to about half - a little more at the tip to blend. The block of wood with the hole in it is used to press the leather against the spinning sanding disc. The hole serves no purpose - just a piece of wood I had laying around.
